Currently I serve in a help desk function for test tickets on one of the in-house applications. I administrate one of the Sharepoint intranet sites, and facilitate requests for access or patches to the test sites. Formerly, I provided annual support to the Corporate Relations Department in their charitable campaigns for United Way, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), their Holiday Greeting Card Program, and funding applications to The Allstate Foundation. Responsibilities included tracking and reconciling pledges; maintaining online virtual auction items; supervising volunteer efforts for Take Your Kids to Work day; scanning and using the company’s CMS for creating online pages for children’s submissions of Holiday Greeting Cards; reviewing and responding to applications for funding. Served in the Assistant’s role during a long-term absence.

Consulting to two small mining exploration and development companies to manage office staff and all office operations. Responsibilities included website maintenance, writing and editing correspondence and magazine articles, purchasing decisions with regard to software, hardware, office redecoration/ergonomics, furniture and supplies. Hired and trained staff, liaised with shareholders and suppliers, prepared materials for mining shows, from design of posters and annual reports to printing. Tracked shareholder warrants and treasury
directions, filed and uploaded news releases for distribution to Sedar. Used Microsoft Office Suite in the preparation of correspondence, reports, presentations, forms and spreadsheets, and CorelDraw and Paint Shop Pro for graphic work.

I performed in various roles in the Ministry of Community and Social Services. While working in Communications, I was the Early Years Liaison, responsible for the openings of all Phase II Ontario Early Years Centres from the writing of the information packages and training manuals to dealing with the advertising agencies and construction companies, to training staff in the use of the CMS to input their website content. In another role, I worked as an Information Officer, responsible for writing and coordinating approvals of ministers’
speaking notes, local announcements and their posting on the intranet, and briefing notes and media advisories. From May 2000 to August 2001, I provided administrative support to the Provincial-Municipal Liaison Project, "Who Does What", at MCSS. From November 1998 to May 2000, I worked on assignment at the Children’s Secretariat as part of the Communications Team, where I was responsible for updating and maintaining their website and the Children’s Pathfinder, an exclusive database of information pertaining to children’s issues. I also liaised and met with the Minister’s office staff on communications issues and Minister’s correspondence. I provided branch HR services which included overseeing contract renewals and secondments. In addition, I served as the internal trouble-shooter for any software problems within the Secretariat and prime point of contact for ITSB-authorized areas. I was also responsible for writing, editing and proofreading minister’s correspondence, providing budgetary reports, and correspondence, and presentations using Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

Duties included branch records management, computer troubleshooting and training, and training scheduling and video library selection/rental. Functioned in a floating capacity in various Ministry positions, as well as volunteering to the Ontario Municipal Board to assist with their post-downsizing needs. Served a dual role working with the Transformation Secretariat as an active member in transforming the focus and procedures of the Ministry in its re-engineering project. Responsible for managing secretarial staff, liaising with the Deputy Minister, ADMs and Directors of the Ministry; coordinating/arranging meetings for all Ministry senior management and meetings for the entire Ministry, prepared reports and tracked costs; developed workplans for fiscal year-end, accounts receivable and payable. Member of the Communications Committee, writing/editing documentation to update staff on transformation, and was responsible for creating terms of reference for various committees to involve staff in transformation, and to identify and recommend improvements in areas of process streamlining.

Leader of Sales Administration Departments across Canada for Call-Net and Lightel (corporate account company), responsible for managing, hiring and reviewing the work of administrative staff and analysts. Re-engineered processes and procedures for Toronto, Montreal, Hamilton and London sales offices. Redesigned and standardized procedures for corporate accounts. Worked with MIS department to design software to track monthly sales and commissions. Produced daily, weekly and monthly sales reports and payroll commission statements. Used WordPerfect, Lotus and dBase to create proposals, reports and all sales documentation.

Started and managed an agency providing off-site software services, mainly to market research companies. Continue to direct operations on a part-time basis, which includes assessing and hiring staff, design, marketing and maintenance of company website, and approval and signing authority on all marketing and company policies.
