Updates, Finally

It’s been a while since I posted anything, but that’s because there’s not much to post in a stationery site that simply directs people to information.

However, with that said, there have been a few changes. I’ve switched hosts and am now using Bluehost.com for my hosting needs. Their service is great, I find my sites load faster and they’ve got great technical support. I wish they were located in Toronto, but that doesn’t even matter much because they’ve got a toll-free number if you need to call them. Sounds like I’m flogging the company doesn’t it? Hmmmm, I wonder if they offer commissions. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a web hosting company.

That’s all for updates right now. I may redesign the site soon – soon being when I’m finished reuploading all my other sites with my switch to this new provider. Ok, so maybe that equates as not ‘soon’ but in the near future.

Computer Programming

I recently took the CPAB test to see whether or not I have an aptitude for computer programming. I was surprised to learn that I scored as a ‘potential’ programmer.

While I always recognized my abilities and skill with the computer, it never occurred to me to look into the programming area.

This may be a new adventure for me.

Christmas is Soon

I know that a busy time is approaching, so if you need some extra help on the weekends or after 5:00, I’m available.

I don’t intend to do a lot of Christmas shopping, so I have all the time in the world.

I’m Working Full-Time

I took a full-time job at Allstate Canada. It’s a great company to work for, they walk the walk and they’re always implementing things for their staff. I’m enjoying my time there and I hope to be there for a long time. The learning opportunities are great, and so are the chances for growth. I expect to learn everything possible.

With that said, I haven’t given up my companies and the work I do on my own time. So if you need things done on the weekend or after business hours, I’m still available for that. Ok, I may be a bit of a workaholic in others’ eyes, but work is also my hobby.

Almost Done

I got some time to work on the site and put it back to the way it was – almost. There are a few things more that I’d like to finish up but I didn’t get a chance to do that. However, for now, most of the information that anyone would need is here and that will do in the event that anyone needs to see what my work life has been all about.

New database

I upgraded the database which, of course, screwed up the whole site. Now I’ll have to start from scratch again. I suppose there’s some reason why upgrading can’t work well with existing information but I haven’t realized what that is yet.

I certainly don’t feel like doing all that on a Saturday night. Perhaps I’ll have time tomorrow, and, if not, so what, it’s not urgent that I have my resume online so it can wait for me.
